What We Do
Lions’ service activities are essentially decided and carried out by the clubs themselves. Clubs focus their work according to the needs of their communities. They co-operate closely with the authorities and other service organisations to maximise their impact. Many clubs carry out programmes or respond to disaster relief, to help the needy or those in distress in other countries. They may join up with Lions or other service organisations in these countries or act in concert with international aid efforts. Lions clubs’ activities fall into two categories, namely Fund-Raising projects and Service activities.
Contexted to local requirements, Lions Clubs in Singapore carry out service work in key areas fostered by Lions Clubs International and for which they provide support, namely:
Programmes for the Elderly
Programmes for Youth and Children
Sight Conservation and Work for the Blind, eg SightFirst.
Hearing & Speech & Work with the Deaf
Cultural & Community Awareness
Promoting Use of Information Technology
